INSTALLATION OF THE COESFELD CROSS AT CLEARWATER CENTRAL CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL

What a glorious day it was! The day included

  • A guided meditation on the Coesfeld Cross for the entire student body led by John Venturella, President of CCCHS
  • Sisters of Notre Dame, Associates, members of Clearwater Central Catholic community leading in procession the Coesfeld Cross, a relic of St. Julie, a statue of Julie in a wheelchair, a picture of Hillegonda and Elizabeth, the sunflower
  • Shared reflections on “The Impact of the Sisters of Notre Dame on CCC” by Gabe Noyes, alumna and faculty member of 15+ years and “What Does CCC Mean to the Sisters of Notre Dame” by Sister Mary Dion Horrigan, SND who served at CCC for 21 years
  • Distribution of a special memorial card of the installation of the Coesfeld Cross at CCC

All of the above set the context for this special moment of partnership between Clearwater Central Catholic High School and the Sisters of Notre Dame: the formal installation of the Coesfeld Cross in the Main Hall of the Hurley Building of CCC on March 9, 2016.

Gabe Noyes said, “How much has the presence of the Sisters of Notre Dame impacted CCC? This school would not be the place it is without the charism of the Sisters of Notre Dame.  I have been blessed to have either been taught by or have worked with twelve of these awesome women. Each one brought unique talent and gift to CCC and collectively they have brought God’s goodness and have instilled in countless numbers a willingness t serve, a desire to be one’s best, how to share the priceless gift of prayer with and for each other, true compassion.  Most importantly they have taught me and many others to count on relying on God in good times but also to rely on God during the tough times and to pray with an open heart and with true emotion as well.”

Sr. Mary Dion spoke unequivocally when she said, “The presence of God’s goodness here at CCC is tangible, palpable, and powerful. This is a special place blessed by God’s goodness.  You, the administration, faculty, staff, students, and parents make God’s presence felt on a day to day basis. We proudly name CCC as a special charism family of the Sisters of Notre Dame. This is a Notre Dame School. We are proud to have Notre Dame, our charism and educational principles identified with CCC.”
