NDCL Students Participate in Unique Service Opportunity
As part of the Saint Joseph of Arimathea Society at NDCL, students are connected with local Catholic cemeteries and volunteer as pallbearers for those who pass away without family members or friends to perform this service. Students assist in carrying community members to their final resting place and take part in a prayer service at the grave site. Participating in the Saint Joseph of Arimathea Society provides young people a way to live their faith by performing the Corporal Work of Mercy of burying the dead and the Spiritual Work of Mercy of praying for the dead. The program also ensures the dead are buried with dignity and grace.
