Dr. Laura Koehl, President of Notre Dame Academy in Park Hills, KY, was recognized Wednesday, May 15 with the Helen Carroll Champion of Education Award by the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce’s Women’s Initiative at the Outstanding Women of Northern Kentucky 2019 Awards luncheon. This award is presented annually to a woman that is a recognized leader, showing dedication to and making an impact on education in the Northern Kentucky community.
NDA Principal, Jack VonHandorf, says, “No one better exemplifies the spirit of NDA than our very own Dr. Laura Koehl. As president of Notre Dame Academy, Dr. Koehl defines the vision of our school. She collaborates with our stakeholders setting our direction and articulating our strategic goals. Dr. Koehl has dedicated her professional career to education – especially for young women. She is a wonderful example to our students as an NDA graduate who is living the mission of our school and truly made and is making a difference in the world.”
Dr. Laura Koehl, a 1975 graduate of Notre Dame Academy, started her career with the Academy almost 13 years ago as a science teacher and now serves as the first lay president.
